FUSION

Quando la luce è spazio.

 

La casa è composta da due corpi di fabbrica, volutamente "distinti" e riconoscibili dal punto di vista formale e materico, ma al tempo stesso ancorati tra loro tramite dettagli costruttivi che si ripetono su entrambi.

Un primo corpo è preesistente, all'angolo tra Via Mazzini e Via Daunia, da consolidare, riqualificare e razionalizzare. Un secondo di nuova edificazione, ad ampliamento, con un'unica possibile esposizione su Via Daunia.

L'esigenza fondamentale era quella di inglobare lo spazio di entrambe le strutture, sotto l'aspetto distributivo, ma soprattutto di catturare luce trascinandola verso il nuovo fabbricato, malgrado la sua infelice esposizione a nord.

Le grandi aperture, parzialmente schermate dai pannelli pieni dei parapetti dei terrazzi, a protezione dei venti provenienti da nord, non erano sufficienti.

Ma l'intuizione di creare due sfondamenti praticati sul muro della struttura preesistente, di confine con la nuova edificazione, e posizionati in corrispondenza del cono luminoso, ha permesso non solo di collegare il vecchio con il nuovo, ma anche, e soprattutto, di calamitare la luce da est verso i luoghi richiesti e deputati alla zona giorno, mentre un'altra apertura, realizzata sul tetto della nuova struttura e posizionata in proiezione dello sfondamento che permette l'attraversamento della scala elicoidale che porta al piano secondo, getta luce zenitale da sud/ovest sugli stessi luoghi.

E' la luce che funge da catena ed unifica lo spazio!

La scala diventa così l'elemento rappresentativo, posizionata nel cuore della casa, da cui tutto nasce e tutto si forma.

When light is space.

 

The house consists of two buildings, deliberately "distinct" and recognizable through form and matter, but at the same time anchored between them through constructive details which are repeated on both.

A first body of the building is pre-existing, on the corner of Via Mazzini and Via Daunia, to consolidate, retrain and rationalize. A second, newly constructed, as an extension, with an unique possible exposure on Via Daunia.

The basic requirement was to incorporate the space of both structures, under the distributive aspect, but especially to capture light by dragging it into the new building, despite its unhappy northern exposure.
Large openings, partially screened by full panels of balcony railings, to protection against winds from the north, were not sufficient.

But the intuition to create two breakthroughs made on the boundary wall of the old structure, and positioned at the light cone, has allowed not only to connect the old with the new, but also, and especially, magnetize the light from east to the required places and deputies to the living area, while another opening on the roof of the new structure, located in the projection of the breakthrough which allows the crossing of the spiral staircase leading to the second floor, throws zenithal light from the south / west on the same places.

The light acts as a chain and unifies the space!

So the scale becomes the representative element, located in the heart of the house, from which everything is born and everything is formed.
